I Heard The News Today Oh Boy

Some of the still images being shown on television are so disturbing. I've seen several showing groups of rescuers carrying bodies of bleeding victims as they try to rush them away from the scene of the shootings. How must the families of Virgina Tech students feel seeing those pictures as well as the other coverage?

That's the reason I haven't watched any of the coverage, I was wondering how the parents and families of those who were killed would feel. Or even the family of the killer seeing what he had wrought.

Terrible, terrible story.

I had to stop watching after a couple hours last night. It was too much.

My local NPR station stopped fundraising and went to solid news coverage because of this. Being in Richmond, this has hit all the harder - I have no idea what happened to last summer's interns, at least one friend at Tech (he's ok), and half of my department are Tech alumni.

What an incredibly horrific story.

I've been wondering about how all of this affected you and your area since I knew you are close by. Peace to all of you during this time.

The activity at NRA HQ must be something to behold as they gear up because of this.

I was able to read a few things on the web I hadn't seen or heard any coverage until I got home. I should've known better. People do want to know about these kinds of things so yes TV news should cover it. But all the television coverage is so over the top and sensational. I agree about sticking with NPR.
