I come out of semi-retirement to ask some questions: Is it wrong of me to wish for a 2008 Democratic convention that really means something? Is it wrong to hope that it will be more than just an endless commercial for a candidate who sewed everything up in the Spring? Isn't it a good thing that voters still have a real choice after the so-called Super Tuesday? (I'm glad that my vote will still count on Saturday in the Louisiana primary.)

I know the Democratic party would prefer to save all of this cash for the battle against the Republican candidate but I like the unpredictability of this.

With the fight for the Democratic nomination still unresolved, more talk is circulating about the possibility that the contest could continue to the convention this August.

THERE YOU ARE. Good heavens. A little weird, actually, because just this morning on the bus I was thinking over people who were on my friends list way back, and I suddenly had a moment's worry: "Did I unfriend silverdee for some reason? I haven't read a word from her in ages!"

Who are you voting for then? Come on, tell us :)

Hey there! I've been dormant for a while but I'm feeling the urge to get in the mix again.

I'm for Obama for many reasons. One is that I don't want history to reflect this: Bush I, Clinton I, Bush II, Clinton II. That's just a little too cozy for my liking.

"You can Barack me tonight!"
Because my workplace blocks the Tube I had to wait until I got home to view this for the first time. Love it! And it doesn't hurt the cause that she's a hot little minky.

I'm also glad to hear you're still with us. I always thought the conventions were interesting, but I'm a nerd that way. I think if we have a real, live convention fight in July, it'll be all that much better. That's a show I'd like to see.

I'm a convention nerd from way back myself. I'm old enough to remember the 1972 Democratic convention and even though my Dad was a full on Nixon man (he manages a little regret now that he's turned against the Republicans), he stayed up into the wee hours talking me through all the Miami hoopla.
