Last week, the washing machine stops working on the gentle cycle. New timer required - not cheap and washer no longer under warranty.

TV in living room has been acting up for several weeks so on Monday, Juannie and I decide to buy a new TV. We leave store with a flatscreen HD-ready TV along with a VCR/DVD combo - this got added on just at the last minute to go along with stereo TV because VCR in that room was not a stereo VCR. It's agreed that these are gifts for his birthday next week.

Just as we arrive home from making semi-expensive purchases (all items were on sale), the radiator in Juannie's truck finally expires. We've known it's been cracked on the top for a while. We get it towed from our house and will pay this afternoon for installation of new radiator.

On Tuesday, Juannie spills a huge glass of water on our only working computer, the laptop. Laptop ceases to work. As of last night, laptop still not responding to resuscitation attempts after suspicious drowning.

On the way to work this morning, Juannie innocently asks me if I want to go shopping for a new computer tonight. I hope he won lotto and didn't tell me about it because I don't know where all the money is coming from for this new computer after everything else that just drained the bank account.

Can you find one of those six or twelve month deals with no interest? It's how we got our TV at best buy. It's also how we got our fridge, dishwasher, and now stove. You just have to be firm with yourself and make payments, even if it says no payments, because at the end of the year they stick on all the interest if it hasn't been paid. We use it as reverse layaway, and even usually pay things off early.

We may just have to do that. I don't think the laptop is going to recover. We'll have to give it burial with honors. ;-)

Could you...dare I say it...take back the HD TV and DVD while you can still get a full refund? Then Juannie either gets a spanking new radiator for his burfday or he waits awhile till all is paid off.

You are a saucy minx for suggesting such a thing. Even if I could dare to mention such a suggestion, it was part of his birthday present and he deserves it for being such a big sweetie. But that computer will just have to wait for a little while. So no LJ from home for me!
