Storm Watch

We were released at noon from work. We are not sure why but who asks questions in that situation. We all scooted out of the office as quickly as possible. I took a long nap and woke up to discover that Dennis is expected to bypass New Orleans.

This is hopeful news for us because the ground is still a mucky mess in many areas after Cindy. And we've had more rain since then so the city has not dried out at all. This is not good news for Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. I have friends and relatives living in all three states so I am still watching the storm closely. And it ain't over 'til it's over even on the edges of a storm so it will be a tense weekend here as we hope for the best for everyone along the Gulf Coast.

Good luck and be safe to everyone in the affected areas.

I'm happy, yes, I don't want a hurricane, but like you, I also have friends in those areas so it's happiness mixed with a bit of guilt and some sadness. I am praying for everyone.

Well-put. It's definitely bittersweet in these situations.

I may have missed it in your lj. What happened with Joan's kids?

That's what I told her. Look at the positive and ignore the gum in the carpet.
