Mardi Gras 2006

I am so happy to see the plans are continuing for Mardi Gras 2006! It may be smaller this year but the people who come back to the New Orleans area will be ready for the celebration.

Hey there! I have been wondering about you. How are you and where are you right now?

I'm okay... I'm in Kenner - back at work. I am housesitting for a coworker until she comes back. I went into my house yesterday (snuck in)... it's disgusting but we got off pretty lucky I guess. We flooded but only six inches. That means that doors and walls and floors are highly damaged and just about all of the furniture is covered in mold and will have to go... as well as many personal items, all clothes, books on lower shelves, etc... but really - it could've been a lot worse.

How about you?

Similar deal at my house... Six inches or so of water and lots to throw out but I am grateful to have a house. I've been working since the Thursday after the storm. Luckily, my group went to work in Jackson where we evacuated. Work is good at times like these.

small isn't necessarily bad...especially for the quarter folks who get tired of college kids peeing and puking on their doorsteps...

I agree. I think it would be great if this one stays mostly for us locals.
