Another Aggravation Thanks To Katrina

Lately, I have been having a recurrence of minor symptoms of hyperthyroidism. Shaky hands, lessened appetite, weakness in my arms and legs and rapid weight loss. I was first diagnosed with hyperthyroidism after a period of extreme stress three years ago. I did the course of treatment and my last few tests showed all was well with me. I think it's returned because of recent stressors. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. I will probably have to go back on medication. Bleh! I hate taking pills.

Out of curiosity, did you experience frequent lightheadedness/spinning spells (even if ever so brief) before you were diagnosed? Obviously, I'm interested for personal reasons....

I did have lightheadedness then. Before my diagnosis, I had an ear infection and was being treated for that. I had a serious flare up of symptoms that I thought were because of my ear. I didn't really take any of it too seriously and then I wound up in the ER. That's when I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism.

That sucks! The stress of this whole thing has just been crazy.. my heart condition has been acting up too much too. Here's to hoping you can get it back to normal without medication.

I hope your condition improves as things settle down some. But the stress really has taken a toll. In addition to the thyroid stuff, I still don't sleep well most nights and my memory is for shit. I am also quite confused about the day, date and month. Most of the time I think we are still in August.

about 5-6 months ago I was having heart palpitations and dizzy spells and they tested my blood for all sorts of things and found nothing. Stress related symptoms are so annoying and stressful! Stress reduction is a primary factor now in almost every decision I make. It's very tricky though to figure out.

Before the storm, I was living a pretty low stress life because I knew stress was a factor in my thyroid problem before. Mother Nature threw a bunch of us a curveball so here I am.

Hope you are feeling better soon!

Thanks! Most of the time I feel fine luckily but the shakiness and heart pounding are annoying.
