Holiday Randomosity

The Pier One Imports that I used to frequent has not yet reopened because of storm damage. I need a Pier One fix badly to do Christmas shopping and to buy some ornaments for the tree.

Speaking of the tree, Juannie surprised me with it when I came home for lunch. I was actually considering not getting a tree because we are still all topsy-turvy around here. Once I started putting the ornaments on it, I was so glad he bought it.

And if you need to do some shopping to fill up that empty space under your tree, I recommend Baby Bush Toys - "for the resoundingly average child."

Good site - I enjoyed it - too bad they didn't have more products.

I've never been fond of Pier One for some reason but I wonder if I should have a boo at their Christmas stuff. The one thing I need for my dowel tree now is a big, glass, pointy tree topper.

I hope you're planning on having lots of booze and cheese around for Christmas. Sweet vermouth really does make a lurvely drink, btw - with a twist of lemon and an ice cube. Of course, if you ended up hating it, I'd feel bad...

I love Pier One's Christmas items and their incense and candles, too.

And we will have spiked egg nog and Frangelico and lots of cheese. A favorite holiday evening for Juannie and me is what we call snack plate. We have good crackers, cheeses, paté, olives, etc. with champagne or wine. That's dinner. It's fun and easy when we're busy with holiday shopping and other stuff. Will have to give the vermouth a whirl!

When we come home this weekend we are hoping to find some stores open, like the gamestop on Behrman. Maybe it's silly, but we want to buy our Christmas gifts there and try to pump some money back into home.

We are trying to buy most gifts this year from locally-owned places to keep our dollars in the city, too. I just miss going to Pier One to see what fun stuff they have this year.
