Number Crunching

6 weeks since Hurricane Katrina hit.

As of today, here are some more numbers:

1,021 people dead in Louisiana.

140,000 homes and businesses severely damaged in the New Orleans area.

450,000 people made homeless in Louisiana.

55,000 people still in shelters from Louisiana waiting for permanent housing.

Thanks to everyone for your support and kind wishes during the last six weeks. They mean a lot. It's hard at times to escape from the grips of this but reading about the daily lives, thoughts and concerns of others have been a reminder of what life was like before the storm and what life will be once again.
