Headline Hijinks

Headline of the day: Cheney not licensed to shoot birds (or friends). Love it!!!

**Update** I get home from work and find out that Harry Whittington had a minor heart attack this morning because a shotgun pellet moved into his heart muscle. He has been moved into ICU and will probably be in the hospital for another week. I now feel bad for laughing about all of this with co-workers today.

Finally Finished It!

I am so pleased to announce that after many months, broken up by a few weeks of evacuation separation, that I have finally finished Six Wives: The Queens of Henry VIII by David Starkey.

While I really liked this book, I can only recommend it for someone who is truly interested in Henry VIII, Elizabeth I or the Tudor Dynasty. And because it is such a heavy book and because of all the detail and innumerable major and minor historical figures that are involved, I cannot suggest this as a good vacation book. But for those who love in-depth analysis of history, it's a thorough and intriguing look at the lives of Tudor nobility, particularly women.

I am obviously on a non-fiction kick because I am starting Christina, Queen of Sweden: The Restless Life of a European Eccentric by Veronica Buckley.
