Mardi Gras Bead Exposé

Juannie and I recently watched "Mardi Gras: Made In China." The documentary shows where and how the beads thrown during Mardi Gras parades are made contrasting the poor conditions of the young Chinese women working in the factories with the carefree attitudes of young American women during the Carnival season in New Orleans.

"...the significance of the project highlights the vast economic, leisure, and pleasurable inequalities between workers of objects and consumers of objects."
