Crash-lash

The fury of the 'Crash'-lash by Roger Ebert. I don't always agree with Ebert but I like what he says here.

The only Best Picture nominee I saw before the Oscars was Crash. It really affected me. Many scenes from the movie haunted me for days. It was well-acted and didn't candy coat the motives and behavior of the characters. I plan to see the rest of the films when they come out on DVD. I don't go to the multiplex much anymore because it's just a big pain in the tushie.

The last one I saw at the theatre was Harry Potter IV. The image quality wasn't great and we had a slurper behind us with a gigantor soda so Juannie had problems catching dialogue even with his hearing aids. It's just more cozy and comfortable at home, especially for J, because he relies so much on the captioning.

Awwwwww, you saw Harry Potter 4?

I'm sorry. Wasn't your movie theatre playing anything good?

Walk the Line was okay. I really enjoyed the part where June Carter and Ray Charles met. Poor Johnny Cash, going blind and all at such a young age. And those interchangeable drug addictions! Tour buses, I love scenes on tour buses.

Julia Roberts has an Oscar[tm].
ReeseRenee Witherspoonwelleger has an Oscar[tm].

Diane Lane does not.

What's wrong with this HOLLYWOOD!?!?

Julia gets on my nerves. So does Reese.

Diane does not. Plus she's a goddess.

I think Reese should be in a Bruce Willis actioner and she should get hit with a grenade launcher.

Then we could have "Reese's Pieces".

Reasons I Did Not See These Movies.

Crash: I don't see 'race' movies any longer. I get the point that we all just need to get along already, thanks!

Brokeback Mountain: I don't see 'gay' movies any longer. I get the point that we all just need to get along already, thanks!

Hotel Rwanda, Schindler's List, yadda yadda yadda: I don't see genocide films any longer. I get the point that we all just need to get along already, thanks!

Munich: I don't see Spielberg films anylonger. I get the point that he is a hack already, thanks!
