Glum Bunch
Juannie's away for one night in Dallas for a hurricane preparedness meeting. So I am home alone with two sad pups who are missing him.
We went for a ride and they had lots of treats but they are still very downcast. They keep lounging by the front door. Bess whines piteously every now and then while Rocky just stares at the door dejectedly.
I think I'll be going to bed early and curling up with a good book to keep me company. I just started I Am Madame X by Gioia Diliberto. It reminds me so far of Memoirs of A Geisha because the main character, Virginie Gautreau, is introduced many years after the height of her fame, really infamy, as the model for John Singer Sargent's scandalous painting of her. I just started getting into the details of her childhood on a Louisiana plantation. So far I am very intrigued.
