Party for the Diaspora

Tonight, Juannie and I are going to a party at Roger & Rico's. We are gathering to see two friends who moved away after their house in New Orleans was devastated from the flooding. While no one else had such complete havoc wreaked to their homes in the group, everyone is still overcoming obstacles-personal and professional-created by Katrina. Jobs will never return, houses will never be the same, people will never be made whole. Yet we all move on to destinies that are flexible and possibilities that might never have been realized had the storm not happened.
