Broken Up

I had no idea that Brokeback Mountain was going to make me cry and cry. Definitely not the feel good film of last year. I am such a sap.

It's such a depressing movie. I hate sad endings... I prefer total escapism

I knew it wasn't a comedy but had no idea it was going to be that intense. The scene with the parents at the end was so wrenching. And Anne Hathaway really surprised me with her performance. She did an excellent job.

I didn't get to see a lot of movies at the theater late last year and early this year. And it hasn't been one on top of my rental list because I'm leaning toward lighter fare of late. Just happened to catch it on HBO. It's excellent.

:( And the music just adds to it all, doesn't it? I went out and bought the soundtrack the very next day, and it remains one of my favs.

Seriously, though, the scene when he sees the shirts, one inside the other.

Re: Ps.
I love them. Heard a few songs on National Public Radio and immediately sought them out on iTunes.

The musis was perfect. Spare and moody like the film.

And the shirt scenes were so heartrending. I'll be thinking about this movie for a while.

Yes, serious depression. And on a side note, I love the office icon!! :)

The main characters' suffering is so evident and yet kept mostly lowkey. It made it all that much more immediate and believable.

I like your icon, too!

I was okay until the very end. The last scene with the two shirts got me.
