Nancy Pelosi becomes the first woman to lead the United States' House of Representatives.
"This is an historic moment for the Congress, and for the women of this country," Pelosi declared after taking the gavel. "It is a moment for which we have waited more than 200 years .... For our daughters and granddaughters, now the sky is the limit."

I like Nancy Pelosi. Maybe her history of representing San Francsico will make her a bit more sensitive to gay issues. I can only hope.
And I do hope she doesn't wuss out on gay issues, the war, ethics reform and education. We need some balls from the Dems and maybe a woman's got 'em.
