Saints - Lack of Concentration

Things have gotten a little obsessive this week. It's difficult to think about anything but the New Orleans Saints and their upcoming appearance in the NFC Championship against the Chicago Bears.

To occupy ourselves at work, we did a little decorating. It's not a Christmas tree. It's a Saintsmas tree.

If you wish to work some mojo on behalf of the Saints, here's your chance to make a voodoo bear.

I've been watching the Bears all season, and I assure you they are nowhere near as good as their record might suggest. In fact, I'd say they aren't as good as the Eagles or even the Giants. They played in the weakest division in the NFC, barely escaped a loss to Arizona, and their quarterback is a disaster waiting to happen: Grossman is said to have a good game simply when he doesn't fuck up!

I really like the Saints' chances, even if the weather is snowy and cold, as is the forecast.

I was so nervous about last week's game but this week I feel like the Saints can handle the Bears. They barely contained the Seahawks last week and the Seahawks don't have nearly as many offensive weapons as the Saints.

I went to my parents' house today and they had their voodoo bear all done and it sported several strategically placed pins!

There is a song that's always on the radio (I think it's U2) called "The Saints Are Coming." I've never listened closely enough to see if it actually has anything to do with those Saints (probably not) but it always makes me think of you!!

U2 and Green Day collaborated on that remake to benefit a New Orleans musicians' charity. The song debuted on the night of our first home game back in the Superdome since Hurricane Katrina. U2 and Green Day performed it just before the start of the football game. So it's a song that is being played here constantly right now. It's our theme song for this season!
