Mounting A Campaign to Rename I-69

“Every time I have been out in the public with an ‘I-69’ button on my lapel, teenagers point and snicker at it. I have had many ask me if they can have my button. I believe it is time to change the name of the highway. It is the moral thing to do.” So says John Hostettler, the Indiana Congressman, mounting the campaign to change I-69 to I-63.

“Naming the road I-63 not only follows numbering guidelines, it doesn’t have the sexual undertones that I-69 has,” says Hostettler, “It is a win-win situation.”

69 strikes me as more of a win-win situation but that's just my humble opinion.

I wonder if it is necessary to be a humourless git to be a politician? Is it some sort of unwritten prerequisite*?

The heavens know it certainly has worked for George W.

*Of course, having said that, I have the feeling that the ol' I-69 wouldn't have bothered Clinton at all...

"Mounting" a campaign to change the name of I-69, eh?

Yay for double entendre!
