Goals for 2005

My major goal for 2005 is to start a book group. I have been wanting to do this for several years but haven't done anything about it. Now I have a list of folks I want to invite and can't wait to get started. I was in two book groups when I lived in San Francisco and loved them both. Now that I have finally settled down here in New Orleans, I am determined to do this.

Another goal for 2005 is to start doing yoga again. I did it regularly for a while and I miss it. Juannie wants to start again, too, so we help each other stay motivated.

One more goal is to save up money for a vacation to the Bay Area in June. Juannie and I are good savers when we have a very defined goal like a trip. Yea! California here we come.

And I want to do more volunteer work in 2005. I usually volunteer at my local public radio station during pledge time twice a year. I think I would like to do adult literacy or ESL, too. I need to get to work on this one so it happens.

And I am steadily working on my ongoing plan to read, read, read all the books I now own before my birthday in August. I am including all the books I received for Christmas in this goal. (The book group and this goal work hand in hand, don't they? Or they could work against each other. Who am I kidding? I'll be reading like a mental patient no matter what.)
