1st Book Group Meeting

Last night was the first meeting of the new book group. There were only four of us but several others are interested who could not attend for various reasons. The four ladies present - guys are welcome but none have joined yet - chose our first five books for 2005. Everyone brought at least one book for the group to consider and two of the ladies had recommendations they'd gotten from others who are in book groups of their own.

The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck

I am very excited to begin Middlesex. I didn't suggest this one but it kills two birds with one stone for me. It's one of the books I need to read before my 40th in August. Our next meeting is on 02/16.

I am glad that I have gotten one of my 2005 commitments rolling and it's only 01/20/05!
