Legal Shenanigans Part 2

Two Durango, CO teen-age girls were sued by a neighbor after they knocked and anonymously left homebaked cookies and a note at her door. The neighbor, Renea Young, became so freaked out that she called police that night and had a panic attack the next day resulting in a trip to the hospital. She sued the girls for her medical expenses.

On Thursday, a Durango judge ordered the girls to pay about $900 for Young's bills. "I know there wasn't any intent to cause harm, but I think that they made some poor choices," Young has said. "I think there should have been some accountability."

"...now the girls are getting support from all over the country, including monetary contributions to pay their fine."

It's not bad enough that the woman sued them but then the judge reinforces her histrionics by awarding her damages.
